BMW certainly has its work cut out to capture a fair share of the market, as this is the realm of the well known and well loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles. The century old motorcycle maker might not be at the forefront in technological innovations and engineering, but their models rock where it matters for the American motorcyclists group. There is no other make which have achieved the degree of brand loyalty as the Milwaukee motorcycle manufacturer has over the years, and even earning its range of models the highly personal nomenclature of simply “Harleys”.
Concentrating mainly on the cruiser market, Harley Davidson has managed to fend off it competitors with a good range of retro-styled, modern engineering models. Its main calling card must surely be the deep throb emitted from the huge exhaust which is highly distinctive and instantly recognizable as Harley Davidson’s. Fans of the make also often go to the edge in customizing their motorcycles; yet another facet of Harleys which has enabled it to have a firm foothold in the sector.
For motorcyclists with some level of racing genes in their body, there can be no other motorcycles for them but a maker from Italy. Ducati Motorcycles are well known for their racing-inspired and highly sophisticated offerings. Producing mainly super bikes, the Italian manufacturer is also a relative newcomer to the scene with barely half a century of historical background in its stead, but it has made up for its lack of heritage with high levels of innovation and engineering which has propelled it to the top where it matters: racing. Just as Italian automakers hold dearly to passionate motoring ethos, it is the same with Ducati. Clean but seductive lines mark out their models from its competitors offerings.
Motorcyclists looking for used motorcycles would not go wrong if they choose any one of these fine makes for their purchases. Buying a high end model carries its fair share of advantage even in the second hand market. These machines would have undoubtedly owned by motorcycling enthusiasts and they do not skimp of maintenance, good riding techniques and making sure that their two-wheeler remains in top notch condition. Nonetheless, it still pays for the buyer to just enquire of the maintenance history, just to be on the safe side. You’d want a machine that would be your traveling partner for as long as it needed to be, after all.
